Course Description

Recommended Prior Learning

Open Entry but note that a student can only choose ONE Science option at Year 11.


This course studies a broad variety of aspects of Science, with an emphasis on Chemistry and Physics. This is designed for students who wish to pursue Physics and/or Chemistry in Year 12 and 13.

Classes will study  from the following areas, although the exact topics may vary year to year: 

1. Mechanics and motion 

2. Fundamentals of electricity. 

3. Language of chemistry and chemical reactions. 

4. Investigation in Science.

This course will offer 16 credits (4 standards).

FUTURE POSSIBILITIES  

This course can lead into a number of different Science pathways in the Senior school, including specialist Science subjects (Physics and Chemistry) and a variety of semester courses offering smaller areas of specialty or multidisciplinary contexts.
