WHAT THE COURSE WILL COVER:

The Graphics – Design and Visual Communication course is a half year course and focuses on understanding and applying drawing techniques and design practice to communicate design ideas. Students will study a range of topics including architecture, furniture, and technological design.

This course is a continuation of Year 9 Graphics – Design & Visual Communication and covers the fundamental concepts that a student would require to enter Year 11 Graphics – Design & Visual Communication. 

The course aims to cover the following topics during the 2 terms:

  • The design process
  • Freehand drawing and sketching techniques and use of media
  • Graphic design/presentation layout methods and techniques
  • Formal technical/instrumental drawing
  • Design Movements
  • Influential Designers
  • Computer aided drawing
