Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mrs S. Hanlon
This course studies a broad variety of Science, including Chemistry, Biology and Physics. This is designed for students who wish to pursue all 3 Sciences in Years 12 and 13. The Topics build on those presented in Years 9 & 10 and develop the student's understanding of the Nature of Science.
Classes will study from the following areas, although the exact topics may vary year to year:
1. Mechanics and motion
2. How genetic information is passed from generation to generation.
3. Language of chemistry and chemical reactions.
4. Investigation in Science.
This course will offer 16 credits.
FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
This course can lead into a number of different Science pathways in the Senior school, including specialist Science subjects (Physics, Biology, and Chemistry) and a variety of semester courses offering smaller areas of specialty or multidisciplinary contexts.
Recommended Prior Learning
Open Entry but note that a student can only choose ONE Science option at Year 11.

Students would benefit from having their own device (Chromebook or laptop).
