Course Description

The Graphics - Design and Visual Communication course involves establishing core design and drawing knowledge and techniques, with a particular focus on three-dimensional design. Students will develop their skills in exploring and refining design ideas in response to a brief, using creative strategies and visual techniques to aid design thinking. The use of visual communication techniques includes freehand sketching, instrumental drawing, physical and digital modelling and presentation principles.
There are 2 major projects covering both product/furniture design and architecture based context.
As some of the coursework is online it is highly recommended that students bring an appropriate device to class.
Students will achieve between 18-22 credits during the year standards will be selected depending on their interests and abilities.
Recommended Prior Learning
An interest in design and drawing. Completion of Year 10 Graphics is beneficial.
