Course Description

The emphasis of this course is to prepare students for Level 3 Calculus by focusing on Algebra and Calculus. Mathematical thinking and concepts are developed and placed in meaningful contexts.
Future Possibilities
Mathematics at this level is a recommended background subject for a range of careers and for further study in many areas. Students may progress to Calculus 31F.
NB: To gain entry to Level 3 Mathematics courses, students are encouraged to successfully complete 2 semesters of Level 2 Mathematics. For Calculus 31F the semesters should be Calculus 21S and could be combined with either Mathematics 21S or Statistics 21S.

Recommended number of credits gained in Level One Mathematics: 14 Level 1 Achievement Standard credits
Recommended standards already passed at Merit level:
91027 (1.2) - Apply algebraic procedures in solving problems
91028 (1.3) - Investigate relationships between tables, equations and graphs
