WHAT THE COURSE WILL COVER:

INTRODUCTION TO:

  • Gaming design and programming
  • Website creation
  • Image manipulation
  • Vector Graphics
  • Laser printing

INCLUDING:

  • Learning lots of new skills
  • Designing and creating digital technologies outcomes
  • Problem solving and lateral thinking
  • Understanding the positive and negative impacts of digital technologies on society 
  • How to share, test and debug your digital outcome

APPLICATIONS MAY INCLUDE:

Scratch, Notepad ++, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Presentations, Spreadsheets, Blogger.

METHODS OF LEARNING:

  • Practical hands on approach using a range of materials
  • Group work
  • Self/peer evaluation
  • Project based learning

WHERE DOES THE SUBJECT LEAD:

  • Year 10 Digital Technologies - half year option
  • Year 10 Digital Technologies, Create, Collaborate & Connect - full year option
  • Year 11 Digital Technologies - students can specialise in areas of programming or media or a combination of both
  • Year 12 Digital Technologies - students can specialise in areas of programming or media or a combination of both
  • Year 13 Digital Technologies - students can specialise in areas of programming or media or a combination of both

This semester options course runs for three periods per week for two terms.
