Year 10 Te Reo Maori / Maori Performing Arts - Full Year
Course Description

WHAT THE COURSE WILL COVER:
This course follows on from Year 9 Te Reo Māori.
Students will:
- revise language to enable them to discuss family relationships
- communicate information about themselves and others
- present information accurately about a well-known Māori person past and present
- write descriptions of people they know
- extend their oral pepeha / mihimihi
This course will link with Year 9 Māori Performing Arts and may include the following:
- Waiata
- Waiata-A-Ringa
- Haka
METHODS OF LEARNING:
Listening, speaking and responding to commands and instructions in Te Reo Māori.
Writing sentences in Māori
Reading and understanding text in Māori and English
An option to participate in Manu Kōrero speech contest
Presenting spoken and written assignments / research
Performing Waiata, Haka and Poi
