WHAT THE COURSE WILL COVER:

This is a follow on from the Yr9 CCT half-year course covering the Digital Technologies strands of:

CT: – Computational Thinking – developing understanding of Computer Science Principles becoming creators and not just users of the technology

DDDO: - Designing and Developing Digital Outcomes – this will take the form of developing a digital outcome following the Technology design process with Project Based Learning (PBL).

Learning may include:

  • 3D Modelling and Animation
  • Hardware/software / Advanced File Management
  • Python Programming 
  • App Inventor
  • Drone work
  • Project Management
  • 3D Printing
  • Laser Work
  • Edison robots
  • Gaming

 

METHODS OF LEARNING:

  • Practical hands on approach using a range of hardware
  • Group work
  • Self/Peer Evaluation
  • Project based learning
  • Key Competencies are embedded throughout the learning 

 

WHERE DOES THE SUBJECT LEAD?

  • Year 11 Digital Technologies – students can specialize in areas of Programming or Media or a combination of both
  • Year 12 Digital Technologies – students can specialize in areas of Programming or Media or a combination of both
  • Year 13 Digital Technologies – students can specialize in areas of Programming or Media or a combination of both
