WHAT THE COURSE WILL COVER:
This is a follow on from the Yr9 CCT half-year course covering the Digital Technologies strands of:
CT: – Computational Thinking – developing understanding of Computer Science Principles becoming creators and not just users of the technology
DDDO: - Designing and Developing Digital Outcomes – this will take the form of developing a digital outcome following the Technology design process with Project Based Learning (PBL).
Learning may include:
- 3D Modelling and Animation
- Hardware/software / Advanced File Management
- Python Programming
- App Inventor
- Drone work
- Project Management
- 3D Printing
- Laser Work
- Edison robots
- Gaming
METHODS OF LEARNING:
- Practical hands on approach using a range of hardware
- Group work
- Self/Peer Evaluation
- Project based learning
- Key Competencies are embedded throughout the learning
WHERE DOES THE SUBJECT LEAD?
- Year 11 Digital Technologies – students can specialize in areas of Programming or Media or a combination of both
- Year 12 Digital Technologies – students can specialize in areas of Programming or Media or a combination of both
- Year 13 Digital Technologies – students can specialize in areas of Programming or Media or a combination of both
